Pictures from a day trip to Vadimir and Suzdal, Suzdal is a UNESCO world Heritage sight about 220KM outof Moscow.
A bit of history. Suzdal and Vladimir are part of the Golden Ring of ancient cities in Russia dating back to the early Middle Ages.
Suzdal is one of the oldest cities in Russia and it was a Prince of Suzdal - Yuri Longarm (Dolgoruki) who founded Moscow.
Below a couple of pictures of the Convent of the Divine Intercession. Ivan the III
sent his wife there after she failed to have a male baby. The poor woman had been chosen in a parade of
Russian beauties and ended up here.
